Phytoremediation Processes of Sasirangan Textile Industrial Wastewater Treatment using Water Hyacinth
نویسندگان
چکیده
The growth of the textile industry, including Sasirangan is increasing yearly, producing large amounts liquid waste. Generally, this wastewater discharged into environment without treatment, becoming a source environmental pollution. Therefore, it crucial to reduce these pollutants. Various methods, not only physical and chemical but also biological are available remediate wastewater. Phytoremediation has provided an economical, environmentally friendly, aesthetic solution This study aimed utilize Water Hyacinth plant as phytoremediator determine its effect in reducing Total Suspended Solid colors waste industry. research begins by preparing plants. Next, characterization roots using FTIR SEM. Finaly, acclimatization water Hyacinth, followed phytoremediation process for 15 days. Based on results with FTIR, shows that contain functional groups O-H strain, C-H vibrations, C=O deformation, C-O stretching. Observations SEM showed were extremely unstructured had pores. However, cavities which pores cellulose. significant decrease was at 9 days phytoremediation, 54 mg/L (71.12% removal). optimum color reduction within 81.5 PtCo (92.26% presence pores, strengthened analysis colors, could levels Solids

Background & Aims of the Study: There are three different types of fibers used in the manufacture of various textile products: cellulose fibers, protein fibers and synthetic fibers. Textile wastewater discharge into the environment leads to irreparable damages. The main purpose of this study was treatment of textile wastewater, using a combined coagulation and dissolved air flotation (DAF) ...
متن کاملLab Scale Studies on Water Hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes Marts Solms) for Biotreatment of Textile Wastewater
Textile wastewater contains substantial pollution loads in terms of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Total Suspended Solids (TSS), Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and heavy metals. Phytoremediation used for removing heavy metals and other pollutants by aquatic macrophytes treatment systems (AMATS) is well established environmental protective technique. A lab scale stud...
متن کاملCharacteristics of Bacterial Communities in Cyanobacteria-Blooming Aquaculture Wastewater Influenced by the Phytoremediation with Water Hyacinth
Cyanobacterial blooms often occur in aquaculture wastewater in China. A floating plant, water hyacinth has been widely used to treat this wastewater. Little is known, however, about bacterial community characteristics and the risk of potential pathogens in cyanobacteria-blooming aquaculture wastewater remediated by water hyacinth. In wastewater treated with water hyacinth, we used culture enume...
